Details: Hiking trails in the woods with a pond in the middle. Owned by UM.

gallup park

Features: paved trail, small section wood chip trail, 3 playgrounds, pit & regular bathrooms, paddleboard/kayak/canoe rental, boat launch

Parking: Dirt lot with boat launch on Geddes on east side of Huron Pkwy, main entrance on Geddes west of Huron Pkwy with first lot close to boat rental, second lot over the bridge next to playground, and third lot near big playground and pit toilets.

Details: Gallup Park has two entrances, both of which easily access the paved trail. There are four parking lots total. Boat launch is the best place to launch your own kayak or paddleboard.

argo park & canoe livery

Features: hiking trail, paved trail, docks on river, pit toilets, changing rooms, paddleboard/kayak/canoe/tube rental, cascades for tubing

Parking: Multiple dirt parking lots on Longshore Dr.

Details: If you head north from the parking lots there are wooded hiking trails. If you go south from the lots there is a paved trail, canoe/kayak/paddle board/tube rental, locations to launch into the river, and cascades to tube down the river.

Details: Hilly hiking trails with a wide path up to the observatory buildings and smaller trails through the woods. Owned by UM.

Pickerel lake

Features: hiking and mountain biking on Potawatami trail, small beach, water access

Parking: Dirt parking lots off Hankerd Rd. Fill up quickly in the summer.

Details: Pickerel Lake is a beautiful lake surrounded by hiking trails and state park. The beach area is very small and very crowded in the summer. You can launch paddle boards/canoe/kayak/tubes onto the lake and paddle through a water pathway to Crooked Lake.
